Wall of Honor

In addition to monetary support, each year since 2003, the Friends of South High Foundation selects South High alumni who have shown exemplary service to the community since their graduation. These respected and distinctive alumni serve as an inspiration to current students to emulate in their academic and professional lives.

Honorees are presented at the All School Spring Luncheon held annually at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bloomington. Names are added to the “Wall of Honor” in the South High Commons, and a biography is recorded for keeping in the Media Center. Each will be presented with a plaque.

If you know someone who exemplifies the traditions of South High and has distinguished themselves through community or professional service, please consider nominating them for the Wall of Honor. Nominees must have been graduated for five (5) years. Additionally, one inductee per year can be deceased.

Judy Pihlstrom	Class of 1957	Active Foundation member, particpated in 17 different activities at South; taught for Minneapolis schools for 28 years as well as in Stuttgart University; currently serving as the alumni lunch co-chair
Bruce Richard Baird	Class of 1957	Student Council, band, baseball, football, and honored as the 1st Native American to start as quarterback in the city conference. Developed, produced & hosted the first tv news program for Native Americans; served as Direct of Indian Educ in Coleraine MN; received national award for having the highest percentage of Native American students completing 12th grade
